Endless Mountains Nature Center - Volunteers Spotlight
Volunteers make great things possible at the Endless Mountains Nature Center!
Volunteer Spotlight on Kyle Mowry
Sunday, October 18, 2009
As a new volunteer Kyle Mowry made himself indispensable during Summer Nature Day Camp. He also helped with exhibits such as Founder's Day in Tunkhannock and the Kiwanis Wyoming County Fair in September. As a natural public speaker, he easily shared his appreciation of the EMNC education birds with the public. The community service requirements at Wyalusing High School brought Kyle to EMNC, but he volunteered well beyond his required hours.
Volunteer Spotlight on Barbara Reel|
Sunday, October 11, 2008
Barbara Reel was surprised with the EMNC's Annual Volunteer Award during this year's Pumpkin Fest. During the past year Barbara staffed the Lodge the second Sunday of most months, put the polishing touches on the Puppet Theater by adding curtains, cleaned the entire Lodge, worked in the garden, coordinated the road signs for the Vosburg Neck Festival, staffed exhibits, made cloth tote bags for the store, and probably a few more activities that didn't get recorded. The Board of Directors is eternally grateful for the time and talent that Barbara donated this past year and the years since the EMNC was started.
Volunteer Recognition Celebration
Sunday, October 21, 2007
During Pumpkin Fest a special recognition ceremony was held to thank all EMNC volunteers for their time and talents. Three volunteers who have worked over 100 hours each were recognized.
Stephanie Purdy for feeding and caring for the raptors, every week.
Ray Massacesi for keeping the feeders filled, many maintenance projects, photography, bluebird house building and maintenance, and keeping an eye on the Lodge.
An third volunteer was thanked by the board privately as he preferred to remain anonymous. This volunteer insure the trails are in tip top condition, easy to follow, and well mapped.
Every bit of time and talent make the Nature Center possible, so everyone of the volunteers are priceless!
